Prime Cabinet Secretary and Cabinet Secretary for Foreign and Diaspora Affairs Musalia Mudavadi has held talks with representatives from Bloomberg on a proposed partnership to host the inaugural Bloomberg Africa Business Conference in Nairobi.
The discussions focused on positioning Kenya as the preferred destination for investment, finance and innovation on the African continent, with the proposed conference expected to bring together global investors, policymakers and business leaders.
Mudavadi said Kenya’s political stability, strategic location and resilient economy continue to make the country an attractive gateway for investment into Africa.
He noted that hosting the Bloomberg Africa Business Conference would further cement Nairobi’s status as a leading financial, innovation and enterprise hub while showcasing Kenya’s growing role in regional and global commerce.
According to Mudavadi, the conference has the potential to attract fresh investments, create employment opportunities, stimulate innovation and unlock new markets for Kenyan businesses and entrepreneurs.
The meeting was attended by Bloomberg’s Global Head of Brand and Creative, Ashish Verma, Head of Africa Partnerships Nicky Keefe, Kenya Investment Authority Chief Executive Officer John Mwendwa, and Nairobi International Financial Centre Authority Chief Executive Officer Daniel Mainda.
Mudavadi said strengthening partnerships with global institutions is part of the government’s broader strategy to position Kenya as Africa’s diplomatic and investment gateway while driving sustainable economic growth.
The proposed conference is expected to enhance Kenya’s international profile, deepen investor confidence and create new opportunities for local enterprises seeking to expand into regional and global markets.
