Digital content creator and mental health advocate Lydia K.M. has shared a heartfelt message of gratitude with her followers, following the tragic loss of her beloved cousin and closest companion, Shiro Kinuthia—affectionately known as Shii.
Lydia took to social media to honour Shii’s memory, posting a touching tribute that included a funeral poster bearing Shii’s image, alongside details about her upcoming burial. She also included a link to a YouTube livestream for those who wished to join in virtually to celebrate Shii’s life.
In an emotional message, Lydia extended deep appreciation to the many people who had reached out in various ways—through donations, prayers, and emotional support—to stand with her family during this incredibly difficult period.
“Tomorrow, we say our final goodbye to sweet Shii,” she wrote. “Before that day comes, I just want to thank each and every one of you who gave, shared, sent love, said a prayer, or kept us in your thoughts. The kindness you’ve shown has wrapped us in warmth and reminded us we are not alone in this heartbreak.”
Lydia reflected on how widely Shii had impacted others, noting how much love and light she brought into people’s lives. “It’s clear Shii’s spirit touched so many. Knowing that others saw what we saw in her has meant everything.”
The TMI podcast co-host concluded her message with a blessing for her supporters, hoping they too would one day feel the same love in their own times of grief or hardship.
