Kenya Wildlife Services (KWS) has refuted claims of mining activities occurring in Tsavo East National Park, a major tourist destination in Kenya.
The denial follows reports and images circulating online that purportedly show mining operations within the park.
In a statement released on Tuesday, KWS clarified that the images in question are not from Tsavo East National Park but rather from the Galana Kulalu Food Security Project.
This project is situated in Galana Ranch, which borders the park.

“Kenya Wildlife Service (KWS) wishes to dispel false information circulating on social media regarding alleged mining activities in the Tsavo East National Park. We wish to clarify that the images being shared online are not from the said Tsavo East National Park, and that there are no mining activities taking place there,” KWS stated. ,” the statement read.
The Kenya Wildlife Service reaffirmed its dedication to the conservation and protection of national parks and wildlife heritage.
