Kenyan rapper King Kaka has opened up about his personal consequences of releasing his track “Wajinga Nyinyi.” He revealed that the song’s impact was so profound that ended up under armed bodyguard protection at his home.

“Song yangu ya Wajinga Nyinyi ilinifanya nikakuwa na armed bodyguard kwangu nyumbani, Corona ndiyo ilinisaidia ikafanya serikali ikanisahau,” King Kaka said.

Released in late 2019, the song “Wajinga Nyinyi” criticized the corruption, poor governance and the complacency of citizens. The track gained attention from the public as it became a cultural moment.
