Deputy President Prof. Kithure Kindiki has called on coastal communities to support President William Ruto’s development agenda while steering clear of divisive and tribal politics.
Speaking during a youth and women empowerment program in Likoni and Jomvu Kuu sub-counties, Kindiki maintained the government’s commitment to resolving pending land issues and fast-tracking economic growth, even as he took a swipe at the opposition.
Kindiki was in shelly Beach Likoni Saturday for a women and youth empowerment program, where he pledged to ensure the ongoing vijiweni land raw in likoni was resolved as per the presidents directive.
The second in command would also use the platform to call on Mombasa residents to remain united and shun divisive politics, adding the region had benefited under the broad based government.
At the same time he highlighted the different economic empowerment programs rolled out by the government to transform livelihoods at the grassroot.
He also faulted government critics in the opposition whom he accused of propagating tribal and divisive politics.
Kindiki was flanked by a high-level delegation including Mombasa Governor Abdulswamad Nassir, Kwale Governor Fatuma Achani, National Assembly Speaker Moses Wetang’ula, Blue Economy Cabinet Secretary Hassan Joho, Sports CS Salim Mvurya, and South Mugirango MP Silvanus Osoro, among other leaders.
