Deputy President Kithure Kindiki has assured aspirants in Evurore and Muminji wards of a free, fair and credible United Democratic Alliance (UDA) nomination process ahead of the February 26, 2026 by-elections.

The two wards in Mbeere North Constituency, Embu County, will head to the polls to elect new Members of County Assembly (MCAs) following the resignation of their former representatives in November last year to contest parliamentary by-elections.

Speaking on Friday after meeting aspirants expected to participate in the UDA party primaries scheduled for January 10, 2026, Kindiki urged candidates to maintain unity and discipline throughout the nomination exercise and to rally behind those who emerge victorious.

“The strength of UDA lies in cohesion and respect for democratic processes. Once the primaries are concluded, all aspirants must close ranks and work together to secure victory for the party in the by-elections,” Kindiki said.

He reiterated the party’s commitment to transparent nominations, noting that credible primaries are key to maintaining public trust and strengthening grassroots support ahead of the February contest.

Embu Governor Cecily Mbarire and Mbeere North MP Leo Wamuthende were present during the meeting, underscoring the strategic importance the ruling party has placed on the two by-elections as it seeks to consolidate its influence in the region.
