Kenyans can now visit the Russian Federation with a single electronic visa (eVisa).
This is after the Eastern Europe country expanded the list of countries whose citizens can visit it with an eVisa.
According to a statement on social media by the Russian Embassy in Kenya, the President William Ruto-led country was added to the list alongside Eswatini and Zimbabwe.
The announcement was received positively by Kenyans with a majority, including lawyer Ahmednasir Abdullahi, promising to visit.
The eVisa gives the right to a single entry to Russia and stay on a guest or business visit as a tourist.
The visa also grants the privilege to those visiting to participate in scientific, cultural socio-political, economic and sporting events.
The eVisa is valid for 60 days but foreign citizens are are allowed to stay for a maximum of 16 days.
