Kenya and Germany have reaffirmed their long-standing relationship, founded on a mutually beneficial partnership aimed at expanding opportunities for citizens of both countries.
Speaking after a meeting with German Foreign Affairs Minister Johann Wadephul at State House, Nairobi, Kenyan leaders emphasised their shared commitment to multilateralism and a rule-based global order. Both nations agreed on the need to reform the United Nations into a fit-for-purpose institution capable of effectively serving the interests of all nations, particularly those from the Global South.
The discussions also highlighted the importance of Germany’s continued support in promoting peace and stability in the region, with special focus on the ongoing crisis in Sudan.
Additionally, the two sides explored investment opportunities in Kenya, particularly in energy generation, water harvesting and storage, and technical training. These sectors were identified as key drivers of sustainable development and economic growth.
