The Kenya Diaspora Alliance (KDA), through its subsidiary Kenya Diaspora Alliance Welfare Association (KWA), has unveiled a new global medical insurance cover designed to provide affordable, reliable, and comprehensive healthcare protection for Kenyans living abroad and their families.

The new KWA Group Medical Insurance Cover was launched in partnership with Kenbright Insurance Brokers, Jubilee Health Insurance, and BUPA Global. The initiative aims to address a long-standing challenge among Kenyans in the diaspora who have often struggled with high medical costs and inadequate access to quality healthcare services for themselves and their loved ones back home.

This milestone follows the success of the KWA Group Last Expense (GLE) Cover, introduced three years ago, which has since provided dignified and financially supported end-of-life arrangements for Kenyans globally. Building on that success, KWA has now expanded its portfolio to include medical insurance solutions tailored to the unique needs of the diaspora community.

Speaking during the launch, Dr. Shem Ochuodho, Global Chair of the Kenya Diaspora Alliance, said the cover is a direct response to persistent requests from members of the Kenyan diaspora.

“This new medical cover is what our diaspora members have been asking for — a trusted system that guarantees healthcare access for their families in Kenya and themselves abroad, without emotional or financial distress,” he noted.

Njeri Jomo, CEO of Jubilee Health Insurance, emphasized that the partnership symbolizes unity and care that transcends borders.

“This partnership is a celebration of families and cultures connecting through care. We aim to ensure seamless, dependable healthcare for every generation of Kenyan families,” she said.

Mr. Uditha Jayaratne, CEO of BUPA Global Kenya, reaffirmed their commitment to offering world-class healthcare access to Kenyans worldwide.

“Health needs do not stop at borders. With access to over 2.4 million healthcare providers globally, this partnership ensures Kenyans receive quality medical attention wherever they are,” he added.

Under the arrangement, Jubilee Health Insurance will cover families and dependents in Kenya, BUPA Global will provide international medical services, and Kenbright Insurance Brokers will coordinate scheme operations, while KWA will manage member onboarding and support.
