Meru Governor Kawira Mwangaza is fulfilled following the swearing-in of Kithure Kindiki as the third deputy president of Kenya.

Speaking at KICC, Mwangaza thanked President William Ruto for appointing Kindiki to the second most powerful office in the country.

Is a supposed veiled attack on former deputy president Rigathi Gachagua, Mwangaza said Kindiki’s leadership under Ruto will see the whole country united.

"I am so happy today that we have a new deputy president of the Republic of Kenya. As the larger Meru community, we are so happy and thank God for it.
This is a unique day. We really want to thank the president for supporting our son Kindiki. We are very proud of him we know that through his leadership together with our president, the entire country will be united," said Mwangaza.

Notably, Mwangaza was impeached and she is currently in office courtesy of a court order that stopped her ouster.

It is alleged that she doesn’t see eye to eye with Gachagua over allegations that the former deputy president was behind her impeachment.
