Swedish third-tier side Karlstad Fotboll have parted ways with former Gor Mahia defender Frank Odhiambo after one year at the club.

Odhiambo joined Karlstad in March on a season-long loan from Swedish top-flight outfit Djurgårdens IF.

The 23-year-old’s departure was confirmed by Karlstad on Sunday, December 28, through the club’s social media platforms.

“Thank you, Frank! Frank Odhiambo is leaving Karlstad Fotboll and we extend our sincere thanks for his time at the club,” read part of the statement.

The club also highlighted Odhiambo’s contributions during his spell.

“The centre-back joined us on loan from Djurgårdens IF for the past season and made a total of 23 appearances, 11 of them as a starter. He scored three goals and registered one assist during his time in black and blue. We thank him once again and wish him the very best in his continued career,” the statement added.

Odhiambo’s stint at Karlstad marked his fourth loan move since joining Djurgårdens IF on a five-year contract from Kenyan giants Gor Mahia in 2022.
