President William Ruto has exuded confidence that he will floor his competitors in the 2027 presidential elections to secure a second term.
The head of state said his Kenya Kwanza performance in delivering for Kenyans has put him well ahead of his rivals, who he said do not have an agenda.
Speaking on Thursday, May 29, in Kisumu during his Nyanza development tour, President Ruto said he will win the elections in the first round.
"They don't have a clear plan and aren't visionaries. The objective is to spread hatred and call me names like Kasongo and so on. Let them try, though; we'll show them dust. When you consider those tribalists, do you think they could defeat us? We're going to floor them early in the morning," said Ruto.Among those seeking to unseat Ruto are former deputy president Rigathi Gachagua, Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka, People’s Liberation Party (PLP) leader Martha Karua, and former Interior Cabinet Secretary (CS) Fred Matiang’i.
