The Ministry of Health is working with National Government Administrative Officers (NGAOs) in Nairobi North to improve access to healthcare services as preparations for the Jamii Imara Mashinani initiative in Kasarani Constituency continue.
Principal Secretary for Public Health and Professional Standards Mary Muthoni held talks with Nairobi North Sub-Region County Commissioner Simon Odhiambo Osumba during a courtesy call on Saturday.
The meeting focused on how the Ministry of Health and NGAOs can work together to support registration under the Social Health Authority (SHA) and improve access to primary healthcare services in the region.
The partnership will also focus on taking health services and other community programmes closer to residents through the Jamii Imara Mashinani initiative.
Drug and substance abuse, particularly among young people, was also discussed as part of the planned community activities.
The initiative is expected to support awareness and prevention efforts while bringing government services closer to communities through coordinated action.
The collaboration between health officials and NGAOs is intended to strengthen the delivery of these programmes at the community level as preparations for the Kasarani activities continue.
