Harambee Starlets will be looking to maintain their strong form when they face South Sudan this evening in the ongoing CECAFA Women’s Championship in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania.

Head coach Beldine Odemba’s side has made an impressive start to the tournament, defeating Burundi 3-0 in their opening match and thrashing defending champions Uganda 4-0 in their second outing.

A win today will be crucial in boosting their chances of clinching the title when they face hosts Tanzania in a potential title-decider on Saturday.

Their opponents, South Sudan, have endured a difficult tournament so far, having lost both matches without scoring a goal and conceding nine.

They began their campaign with a heavy 4-0 defeat to Tanzania’s Twiga Stars, followed by a 5-0 loss to Uganda.

Today’s match is scheduled for a 4:00 PM kickoff at the Azam Complex in Chamazi. Later in the evening, at the same venue, Tanzania will take on Uganda at 7:00 PM.

Both Kenya and Tanzania are level on six points from their first two matches, making the final group-stage fixtures crucial in determining who advances to the final with momentum.

The tournament serves as vital preparation for the Harambee Starlets ahead of their upcoming Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) qualifier, while Tanzania is also using the event as a final build-up for next month’s WAFCON in Morocco.
