The head of Presidential Special Projects and Creative Economy Coordination, Dennis Itumbi, has responded to former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua’s new moniker for President William Ruto, Githinji.
In an X post, Itumbi approved the name, saying President Ruto will join thousands of male Mt. Kenya residents who bear the name as their first or surname.
The name has two variations: Githinji for Mt. Kenya West and Kithinji for Mt. Kenya East.
In a graphic shared by the renowned digital strategist, people called Githinji are generally givers at heart and serve others through knowledge, creativity and kindness.
Their other traits include adventurous, energetic and adaptable, with a love for freedom and new ideas. They are also friendly and optimistic, but they can also be restless or rebellious at times.
According to the 2019 census, the name is used by about 820,000 people in Kenya.
