AFC Leopards is preparing to host a vibrant celebration of football, community, and club spirit with the second edition of its Players’ Awards Gala, scheduled for July 26 at Masinde Muliro Stadium in Bungoma County.
Organised by the AFC Leopards U45 Unit Branch, the gala will be the highlight of a week-long series of events, including roadshows, community service projects, youth football showcases, music performances, and the highly anticipated awards night.
Branch Chairperson Olympia Musonye emphasized that the gala is more than just a presentation of trophies.
“It’s about celebrating every heartbeat of this club, from our players to the fans in the stands,” she said.
In the lead-up to the event, AFC Leopards has introduced a five-member panel of respected football analysts and insiders who will spearhead the nomination process across key award categories. The panel has been selected for its deep knowledge of the game and passion for Kenyan football.
This year’s gala will present awards in ten categories, recognizing excellence both on and off the pitch:
- Most Valuable Player of the Season
- Fans’ Player of the Season
- Players’ Player of the Season
- Best Defender of the Season
- Best Midfielder of the Season
- Best Attacker of the Season
- Best Goal of the Season
- Best Female Fan of the Season
- Best Male Fan of the Season
- Best Branch of the Season
The celebrations will kick off with roadshows on July 23 and 24, taking place throughout Bungoma County.
On July 25, the U45 Unit will lead a tree-planting initiative as part of an environmental conservation campaign, followed by an inter-county football tournament aimed at spotlighting emerging local talent.
