The Director of Criminal Investigations, Mr. Mohamed I. Amin, has called for stronger collaboration among Eastern Africa nations to counter rising threats from terrorism and transnational organised crime.
Speaking at the Regional Workshop for Heads of Crime Intelligence Units under the Eastern Africa Police Chiefs Cooperation Organisation (EAPCCO), held at Holiday Inn,Two Rivers in Nairobi, Mr. Amin hailed recent successes in dismantling cross-border smuggling networks, crediting timely intelligence sharing for averting major security crises.
The two-day workshop brings together senior crime intelligence officers from across the region to refine strategies, strengthen intelligence flow, and align security priorities among member states.
Mr. Amin expressed appreciation to the INTERPOL Regional Bureau for East Africa and the EAPCCO Secretariat for organising the event.
Among the guests were Mr. Africa Apollo, Head of the INTERPOL Regional Bureau, and Mr. Ibrahim Jillo, Director of the INTERPOL National Central Bureau at DCI.
