The Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentists Commission has ordered the Chiromo Hospital Group -Braeside Branch to immediately evacuate all patients and cease clinical services until further notice. This, it says, is to allow investigations following the death of a patient Susan Kamengere Njoki.
In the notice dated 25th July 2025, KMPDC also directed the hospital management to issue copies of the postmortem results to the council and present all relevant patients’ records.
Additionally, Chiromo Braeside has been instructed to provide a report on the steps taken to prevent similar occurrences in future.
The facility is at the centre of an investigation into the death of a patient Susan Kamengere Njoki. Susan, the founder and Chief Executive Officer of Toto Touch Organization was found dead on Tuesday, 15th July 2025, a day after she was admitted to the hospital.
An autopsy conducted at Nairobi City Mortuary on Tuesday, 22nd July 2025, revealed she died of manual strangulation. Chiromo Hospital Group-Braeside Branch is now at the centre of a widening inquiry, with growing calls for accountability and transparency from both the public and health stakeholders.
KMPDC has assured the public that appropriate measures will be taken once investigations are concluded.
