Fitness instructor and choreographer Chiki Kuruka has opened the personal philosophy that shaped her life as she marked her 38th birthday.
Sharing on Instagram page, she revealed she has chosen happiness and authenticity over the pursuit of being ‘liked.’
‘‘ I gave up trying to ‘liked’ in high school and instead put my focus on being happy and being decent,’’ Chiki wrote.
She reflected that this single decision has been the best she has ever made, allowing her to invest her energy in people who love and respect her, rather than carrying the burden of seeking approval from those who do not.
‘‘I’ve found in my 38 years of life that single handed decision to be the best I’ve made ever. It means I don’t actually care about so much that burdens other people and instead allows me to put ALL my energy to human who I love and respect,’’ she added.
She expressed gratitude for the messages she received from people across diverse backgrounds, noting this outpouring of love, affirmation and emphasized that she does not take a single message or voice note for granted.
Chiki previously stated about the demands of balancing both roles, admitting that managing her husband’s international tours while being present as wife can emotionally draining.
