Football Kenya Federation Premier League champions Kenya Police FC have strengthened their squad with the acquisition of three players during the ongoing mid-season transfer window.

The title holders have signed Hernest Briyock Malonga, Yves Koutiama and Bowamba Jacques as they look to bolster their ranks ahead of the second half of the campaign.

“Three new signings, one shared ambition: Malonga Briyock, Yves Koutiama and Bowamba Jacques arrive ready to bring quality, hunger and intensity as we push forward in the race. Is the league ready for them?” the club said in a statement.

The new additions are expected to reinforce head coach Dusan Stojanovic’s side as the champions aim to stabilise their season and mount a strong title defence following a mixed start.

The club said the trio shares a common objective of helping the team push forward, noting their eagerness to inject fresh energy, quality and competition into the squad.

Malonga, a Congolese defender born in Brazzaville, joins from Tanzanian Premier League side Coastal Union. Primarily a left-back, he can also operate on the wing and has previously featured for Tongo FC, Diables Noirs, Ihefu SC and Singida SC.

Burkina Faso forward Yves Koutiama, 26, arrives from USFA Ouagadougou, having previously played for Sonabel. He is expected to add depth and firepower to Police FC’s attacking options.

The third signing, fellow Congolese defender Bowamba Jacques, joins from AS Otoho. The 22-year-old centre-back has also turned out for DR Congo giants AS Vita Club, bringing additional depth to the champions’ defence.

Kenya Police FC currently sit sixth on the league table with 22 points, two behind leaders Kakamega Homeboyz, who have played two matches more.
