An assistant chief in Limuru is under investigation after allegedly killing a man accused of stealing maize triggering protests in Karanjee village, Kiambu County.
Ngecha Tigoni Assistant chief is said to have fatally attacked Nemwel Ocharo, a suspected maize thief from a local firm.
The incident triggered outrage among villagers, who stormed the administrator’s home demanding justice and accountability. Police were quickly deployed to the scene to disperse the crowd and restore order.
The Assistant County Commission Mbasi Kihima confirmed investigations are ongoing and the case file will be submitted to the ODPP for possible prosecution.
The body of the deceased lies at Tigoni Hospital Mortuary.Police have assured residents of an impartial investigation as the family of the deceased demands justice.
