Isiolo Governor Abdi Guyo has been impeached over, among other accusations, gross misconduct and abuse of office.
On Thursday, June 26, 16 out of 18 Isiolo County MCAs voted in favor of his impeachment motion.
The county boss will now be required to appear before the Senate, where the impeachment decision will be ratified or overturned.
If impeached, Guyo’s deputy will assume the position for the remainder of the term.
