Deputy President Kithure Kindiki on Tuesday, October 13, 2026, chaired the fifth Joint Cabinet Committee meeting of the year to review the implementation of government programmes and flagship projects across key sectors.
The meeting, held in Karen, Nairobi County, focused on reforms in agriculture, education, health, housing, sports and economic growth, as the government seeks to consolidate its development agenda ahead of the end of President William Ruto’s first term.
In a statement shared on his official social media account, Kindiki said the committee agreed that line ministries should strengthen leadership and coordination of key programmes and flagship government projects.

“Chaired the 5th(2026) Joint Cabinet Committee on discharge of Government Business,”Kindiki said.
The move is aimed at improving implementation and ensuring priority initiatives remain on course as the administration approaches the final phase of its first term.

The discussions brought together key government leadership to assess progress in major sectors and identify areas requiring stronger coordination to deliver on the administration’s development commitments.

The Joint Cabinet Committee provides a platform for reviewing government business and aligning ministries around priority programmes, including those targeting service delivery, economic growth and improved public welfare.
