Kiambu gubernatorial aspirant Hon. John Mwaura has underscored the importance of leaders maintaining close ties with the communities they serve, saying effective leadership thrives on regular engagement with wananchi and a commitment to public service.
Speaking on Sunday during a church service at AIPCA Towez Githurai, Mwaura said interactions with ordinary citizens provide leaders with an opportunity to listen to the concerns of the people and better understand their needs and aspirations.

“Leadership is at its best when it remains connected to the people. Every opportunity to interact, listen, and share with wananchi is a reminder that public service is a responsibility that must be carried with humility, honesty, and commitment,” he said.
The gubernatorial hopeful, who had joined congregants for worship and fellowship, thanked the church leadership and members of the congregation for the warm reception accorded to him during the visit, describing the engagement as encouraging and inspiring.

“Today, I joined the faithful at AIPCA Towez Githurai for worship and fellowship. I thank the church leadership and the congregation for the warm welcome and the encouraging conversations we had,” he stated.
Mwaura further called for unity and collective responsibility in addressing challenges facing communities, noting that meaningful development can only be achieved through collaboration and shared purpose.

“Together, let us continue fostering unity, supporting one another, and championing development that uplifts every household. The future we desire will be built through partnership, shared purpose, and unwavering commitment to the common good,” he added.
The call was made on Sunday as the aspirant continued his engagements with residents, religious institutions and community groups across Kiambu County ahead of the 2027 General Election.
