Kenyan musician Bien Alusa and Bongo Fleva artist Alikiba have secured the title this year in their music topping the charts in Africa as the most listened duo for their joint single “Finale.”
The song has officially become Africa’s most watched on YouTube. Released in late March, the track gained sensational success, surpassing over 40 million views in month.
Bien, known for his artistry and consistency, has managed to capture audiences across the continent and the world with a sound that blends worldwide with modern Afrobeats rhythms.
According to YouTube data tracking, Bien and Alikiba amassed a stirring 24 million views, leading over Tanzanian artist Diamond Platnumz with 17 million views on his song “Happy,” while Harmonize was positioned third with 16 million views for “Wewe.”
East African countries have led followed by South Africa, which come fourth with DJ Smallz earning fourth place with 14 million views on “Uncool MC.” Diamond Platnumz again gained the fifth position with his track “Joy” garnered 13 million views.
Nigeria’s Amapiano Asake collaboration with Afrobeat star Wizkid, tied the sixth position with “Turbulence,” with 13 million views.
The data tracking has shown that East African music industry is capable of surpassing other well-known music on the continent.
