Nakuru County marked a milestone with the enterprise launch of RIVA Petroleum, which celebrated its 30th anniversary, a journey that began as a local venture and grown into a formidable national player in the energy sector.

Investment, Trade and Industry Cabinet Secretary Lee Kinyanjui joined Eng. Peter Njeru to celebrate 30 years of RIVA Petroleum. At the celebration, CS Kinyanjui reaffirmed the importance of companies founded in Nakuru can grow into nationally recognized brands that will create jobs, drive investment and contribute to a significant growth in the economy.

RIVA Petroleum’s growth from a local enterprise into a national brand has demonstrated the power of consistency and long-term vision, reminding the role of government is to create an enabling environment where businesses can start, grow and thrive.

The company has partnered with VIVO Energy and with support from KCB, proving local enterprises have access to strategic partnerships and finance, they can scale, compete and succeed. He also thanked the family for their success and setting an example of how family businesses can successfully transition from one generation to the next.

At the ceremony, CS Lee Kinyanjui was accompanied by Nairobi Governor Johnson Sakaja, Nakuru Deputy Governor David Kones, KCB Group Managing Director Paul Russo and VIVO Energy Kenya Managing Director Peter Murungi.
