Kenya Junior Starlets have drawn 1-1 against Uganda Women’s team in their first leg, second round qualifier for the FIFA U17 Women’s World Cup on Friday at FUFA Stadium Kadiba in Kampala.

Uganda scored in the 13th minute of the match through Shadiba Nabirye before Emily Adhiambo scored in the second half for Starlets.

The team showed determination, with a well-worked team effort that showcased their growing confidence on the international stage. Both teams exhibited high intensity, creating opportunity but failed to find a decisive winner.

The Starlet are now focusing on the second leg match, which is set for the 30th of this month in Nairobi, as both teams aim to join Morocco at this year’s FIFA Under 17 Women’s World  Cup.
