Popular businesswoman and Wambugu Apples founder Catherine Wambugu has been involved in a fatal road accident along the Nyeri–Nyahururu Highway that claimed the lives of two of her employees.
In a statement shared on her Facebook account, Wambugu revealed that she was involved in a grisly accident and was subsequently hospitalised. She did not disclose the exact circumstances surrounding the crash but confirmed that the incident resulted in multiple casualties.
The businesswoman expressed deep sorrow over the loss of her two employees, describing the incident as heartbreaking. She thanked well-wishers for their prayers and support during her recovery.
The accident occurred along the busy Nyeri–Nyahururu Highway, a stretch that has previously been associated with serious road crashes. Authorities are yet to release an official report detailing the cause of the accident.
