Comedian and content creator Eddie Butita has shared his disappointment after missing the opportunity to meet global internet sensation IShowSpeed, who is currently visiting Kenya.
Taking to social media, Butita revealed that although Speed had expressed interest in meeting him, his packed schedule made it impossible for the two to link up. In an honest and emotional post, the comedian admitted that the situation genuinely saddened him.
According to Butita, he made several attempts to rearrange his commitments, including rescheduling meetings and adjusting shoot plans, but nothing worked out in the end.
“I’m actually sad because IShowSpeed is in Kenya. He really wanted to meet me, but unfortunately I’m a busy man and my schedule has refused completely,” he shared.
Butita went on to explain that deadlines and work responsibilities left him with no flexibility, despite his best efforts to create time.
“I’ve tried everything—rescheduling meetings, moving shoots, even attempting to free up time like a responsible adult—but it’s not working,” he wrote.
The comedian clarified that the missed meeting was not intentional, stressing that he is usually humble and would never deliberately ignore such an opportunity. He also extended a heartfelt apology to the popular streamer.
“This is very sad. I wish I had time. My sincere apologies, Speed. I will make sure I make it up to you, bro,” he added.
Despite being unable to meet in person, Butita assured fans that he had played a role behind the scenes by helping organise a solid itinerary for Speed during his stay in Kenya. He encouraged people who might run into the streamer to pass along his message.
“If you see ShowSpeed, just tell him I tried my best but schedule said no. All the best—have fun,” he said.
Fans reacted with mixed emotions, with many sympathising with Butita’s situation while others hoped the two creators would connect in the future.
