The Football Kenya Federation (FKF) is set to conclude the 2025 FKF Youth Leagues season with championship finals scheduled across Nairobi, Mombasa, Turkana, Rift Valley and Western Kenya.
The regional finals will take place from Friday across the 15 FKF Youth League centres that participated in the 2025 season. Each region will host its own championship matches, with teams battling for regional titles after months of competitive league action.
Supported by the FIFA Talent Development Scheme (TDS), the FKF Youth Leagues featured boys’ and girls’ competitions in the Under-13, Under-15 and Under-17 categories.
The leagues were conducted in two phases throughout the year, with top-performing teams earning qualification to the regional finals.
Matches will be played at designated venues within each region and will conclude with awards ceremonies to crown the respective regional champions.
These finals mark the conclusion of the current competition structure, which has focused on centre-based leagues and regional championships.
Looking ahead, FKF plans to introduce a revised youth development model aimed at strengthening talent identification and player progression.
Under the new approach, FKF-appointed scouts will identify outstanding players during youth league matches and select them into regional All-Star youth teams.
The selected players will then take part in structured training programmes at designated FKF Youth Centres, offering a more focused pathway for elite youth development.
The regional All-Star teams will subsequently compete in a national FKF Youth Championship finale, where an overall champion will be crowned.
The revised model is designed to enhance talent identification, improve technical development, and create a clearer pathway from grassroots football to elite youth competition, while ensuring wide participation across the country.
