Kenyan social media influencer and dancer Tileh Pacbro set new fires on social media after throwing shade at MP Zaheer Jhanda as the proposed law to control social media influencers continued.

In a post on his Instagram stories, Tileh appeared to denounce the politician’s intention to put tight regulations on online content creators suggesting that if Kenya truly wants to follow China’s footsteps, it should also adopt the Asian country’s harsh punishments for corruption.

As some Kenyan politicians seem to wish to follow suit in imitation of China on their new law against influencers, someone please remind Mr Zaheer that China also has a law that sanctions embezzlement of public funds or major corruption with death! We can’t wait for him to introduce that bill as well! he tweeted.

The comment shortly caught on, with Kenyans responding, repeating Tileh’s sentiments and lambasting alleged hypocrisy by public servants.

Zaheer Jhanda has also recently made headlines after suggesting Kenya emulates China’s move to supervise influencer activities an action that has attracted mixed reactions from online users. While a few appreciate the regulation proposal, others like Tileh believe it is an attempt to gag or limit creativity.

Tileh Pacbro, who has gained a massive online following through comedy, dance, and lifestyle materials, is well known for sharing his opinion regarding issues related to society. His latest post is reflective of increasing tension between Kenya’s creative industry and politicians keen on dictating terms of how digital content creators conduct affairs.
