Police in Siaya County have launched investigations into the murder of an Assistant Chief in Rarieda sub-county early Sunday morning.
According to County Police Commander Serah Koki, Moses Oduor Mbeda, the administrator of Memba sub-location, was killed by unknown assailants.
The incident occurred around 1:00 a.m. when Mbeda was reportedly attacked while stepping out to use a pit latrine within his compound.

“He was hacked on the neck and lost a significant amount of blood,” Koki reported.
Mbeda was rushed to Lwak Mission Hospital but was pronounced dead due to the severity of his injuries.
Police have begun a thorough investigation to determine the circumstances of the attack and identify those responsible. Mbeda’s body is currently at the hospital mortuary awaiting a postmortem examination.
