East African Community member states have been challenged to put efforts towards a joint EAC tourism promotional campaign to tap into the vast tourist sites within Kenya, Uganda and Tanzania.
Speaking in Nairobi, President Yoweri Museveni’s advisor on tourism, Lilly Ajarova, emphasized the unique adventure for each country and the need for concerted efforts from the tourism boards of the three countries, which will not only increase revenue generated from tourism activities but also market them as the best destinations for inbound tourists.
Ajarova, who is also the former CEO of the Uganda Tourism Board, was speaking in Nairobi over the weekend when she launched her book entitled Echoes from Mountains of the Moon, which gives an insight into the adventures of Mount Rwenzori in the southwestern part of Uganda, one of the prime tourist destinations in the country.
