The AMREF Flying Doctors team on Saturday, August 9, visited Mwihoko in Githurai 45 where their plane crashed, killing four of their colleagues.
The four, Jane Omusula, Captain Muthuka Munuve, Captain Brian Kimani Miaro, and Charles Mugo Njoroge were en route to Somalia when their Cessna Citation XLS aircraft crashed shortly after departing from Wilson Airport.
During the visit to the crash scene, the medics, alongside community members, searched the area for any remaining parts of the aircraft.

Amid the search, they paused for a moment of prayer, laying flowers in honour of the lives lost.
They also delivered donations to affected families and community members to help meet their immediate needs.
"We are deeply grateful for the overwhelming support, messages of solidarity and condolences we have received during this difficult time. We reaffirm our commitment to stand with and support all those impacted," said AMREF.
