Lamu police unit has been provided with an added boost to their patrols through the introduction of two new motorbikes at the police station, allowing them to travel faster and reach remote areas of the country that are hard to access.

The motorbikes, which were bought under Lamu West Constituency Development Fund (NG-CDF), arrived today and were received by the Sub-County Police Commander William Ngombo officially

Speaking to the media following the handover, Mr. Ngombo expressed gratitude to the donor team and said the motorbikes would improve day-to-day patrols on the island.

“These motorbikes will improve the speed at which we are able to reach other parts of the island, especially those areas which are far or hard to reach,” he said.
The motorbikes were delivered by Athman Mwanjala and Stephen Wambua from CFAO Mobility.

Mr. Ngombo added that the police service remains focused on working with the community to make security better and more responsive to people’s needs.

Residents in Lamu have often raised concerns about delayed police response in some parts of the island due to difficult terrain. The new bikes are expected to make a big difference in addressing that.
