Popular comedian and digital content creator Kennedy Odhiambo, widely recognised as Crazy Kennar, has made it clear that he has no plans to enter the political arena—even if the opportunity arises. Speaking openly, he shared that he feels fulfilled in his current role within the entertainment industry, saying, “I’ve already embraced my place in society; not all of us are meant to be Members of Parliament.”
Kennar believes that political leadership isn’t for everyone and, while he respects those who pursue it, he prefers to create impact through humour and creativity. His main goal remains to entertain, educate, and motivate his largely youthful audience via comedy sketches and digital storytelling, rather than chase political positions.
His view sets him apart from a growing number of young Kenyans who are increasingly stepping into politics and advocacy roles. Although he acknowledges the significance of their efforts, Kennar feels his greatest influence comes from using satire to provoke thought and reflect social realities through his art.
Those who’ve followed his journey won’t be surprised by this clarity. From the start, Kennar has carved a unique space for himself with content that mirrors everyday Kenyan experiences—blending humour with deeper messages. It’s clear he places more value on creative freedom and authenticity than the potential trade-offs that come with political ambition.
