President William Ruto has affirmed the Government’s commitment to ensuring that open governance is more accessible, responsive and accountable to Kenyans.
President Ruto said that enhancing transparency between Kenyans and the Government greatly benefits the people.
The president emphasised that the development of the nation is a collective responsibility of its people and the Government.
“It is our collective responsibility to ensure that Kenya succeeds and the government believes in working together with the people to ensure the development of the country,” said President Ruto.He was speaking during the Launch of Kenya’s 5th Open Government Partnership (OGP) National Action Plan in Nairobi.
Kenya’s commitments in the 5th National Action Plan (NAP) include access to information, open contracting, open data for development and beneficial ownership transparency.
Additionally, climate action tops the list, as the Government is committed to promoting transparent, sustainable climate solutions that involve community participation.
Other NAP commitments include building open governance resilience, access to justice, digital governance and public participation, legislative and fiscal openness.
