Two suspected drug traffickers have been arrested following a police operation that led to the seizure of cannabis sativa along the Nakuru-Nairobi Highway in Limuru.
According to detectives from the Anti-Narcotics Unit (ANU) and the Transnational Organised Crime Unit (TOCU), the arrests followed intelligence reports linking the suspects to illegal drug trafficking activities.
Acting on the information, officers mounted an ambush in Limuru before intercepting a white Toyota Hiace travelling from Kakamega to Nairobi.
A search of the vehicle uncovered two black bags containing bales of cannabis sativa wrapped in yellow cellotape.The suspects, identified as Kiligwajjo Ashirafu and Misanya Suzan, both Ugandan nationals, were arrested at the scene.
The two are currently being held at Muthaiga Police Station as detectives finalize processing ahead of their arraignment in court. The seized narcotics have been retained as exhibits for the case.
