StanChart Marathon Targets Ksh175M and Record 30,000 Runners

Standard Chartered Marathon.

The 22nd edition of the annual Standard Chartered Nairobi Marathon is targeting to raise Ksh175 million and a record 30,000 participants.

The marathon will take place on October 26 at Uhuru Gardens, Nairobi.

Since inception, the marathon has welcomed over 300,000 runners and raised more than Ksh 850 million to support life-changing programmes across the country.

Last year the marathon raised Ksh171 million.

Standard Chartered Kenya & Africa Corporate Affairs, Brand and Marketing Head Joyce Kibe said the marathon continues to offer an unforgettable experience, bringing together runners from all walks of life to challenge themselves and celebrate the spirit of community.

The marathon features seven race categories: the full marathon (42 km), half marathon (21 km), 10 km race, 21 km wheelchair race, 5 km Family Fun Run, CEO Challenge, and Corporate Challenge.

The competitive races are expected to attract over 250 elite athletes from around the world.

Last year’s edition featured 206 elite runners, up from 73 in 2023, underscoring the growing prestige of the SCNM as a world-class event.
