Even after a match between Shabana FC and Posta Rangers at Gusii stadium was called off, the former made Sh1,531,000 from gate charges.
The Kisii-based team management revealed the collection today afternoon, hailing the supporter’s huge turnout.
The revenue was huge compared to the club’s past collections.
The tourney was postponed after referees disappeared minutes to the kick off.

This came barely a week after Shabana supporters turned violent and vandalised Ulinzi Sports Complex when the Ulinzi Stars equalised past 90th minute and the match ended in 2-2 draw.
Football Kenya Federation (FKF) banned Shabana FC fans from attending the team’s five consecutive home matches and also instructed the team to pay for damage incurred at the stadium.
Shabana FC appealed the verdict at Sports Disputes Tribunal and the ban was lifted a day before the match.
Tribunal’s verdict prompted yesterday’s massive attendance.
FKF said they are investigating what occasioned the officials to abandon the match.
