Safaricom and Google Empower Boda Boda Riders and Small Businesses in Migori with Financial and Digital Literacy Training

Safaricom, in partnership with Google, conducted a financial and digital literacy training for boda boda riders, vendors, and small business operators in Rongo, Migori County.

The training, part of the Safaricom Shine Kenya Shinda Mamilii Kama Bingwa promotion, covered budgeting, saving, investing, and financial products to empower over 300 participants. CEO Peter Ndegwa highlighted the initiative’s goal of promoting informed decision-making and long-term economic empowerment.

“This initiative reflects our commitment to transforming lives through meaningful, strategic investments that uplift communities and contribute to a brighter, more inclusive future for all Kenyans,” said Peter Ndegwa, CEO Safaricom PLC.

The training is part of Safaricom’s community engagement drive in Migori, which also includes a medical camp, hospital visits, and the renovation of Kitere Primary School.
