Deputy President Professor Abraham Kithure Kindiki has a new moniker-Abra K

The name was coined by President William Ruto during Kindiki’s swearing-in at KICC on Friday, November 1.

The name is perhaps shortened from the former Interior CS’s full name, Abraham Kithure.

"Professor, my young brother. Let me call you Abra K. Welcome to the service of this great nation, Kenya. You said that you'll serve the people of Kenya and the Republic of Kenya, Abra K please serve the people of Kenya and the Republic of Kenya," said Ruto.

It is worth noting that the former deputy president Rigathi Gachagua, who was impeached a few weeks ago, was nicknamed Riggy G.

During Kindiki’s inauguration, President Ruto spoke highly of him, saying he is equal to the task in the Office of the Deputy President owing to his track record.

"Professor Kindiki is a highly qualified and outstanding scholar, advocate and public servant whose career has been defined by exemplary achievements which demonstrate his vision for positive change and commitment to high standards of efficiency in his duties," Ruto added.
