Hashim Dagane Muhumed, the prime suspect in the brutal murder of three family members from Eastleigh, was arrested today in Kamukunji, Nairobi.
Muhumed is accused of killing Amina Abdirashid, her aunt Waris Dahabo Daud, and her niece Nuseiba Abdi Mohammed on October 21.
He had been evading capture in Nairobi while authorities expanded their search to Somalia and Ethiopia.
Investigations reveal that Muhumed had illegally obtained a Kenyan identification card.
Previously, he served as a police officer in Ethiopia before being imprisoned on charges of murdering his wife.
After his release, he fled to Kenya, where he established a taxi business in Eastleigh and Parklands.
Police believe he was acquainted with the victims and had prior involvement in extortion activities in the city.

He has been taken to the Directorate of Criminal Investigations headquarters on Kiambu Road for further questioning.
CCTV footage captured him picking up the three women individually in a Nissan Note.
Their bodies were later discovered scattered across different locations in Nairobi, and the vehicle was found abandoned at Wakulima Market.
