President William Ruto has hosted senior French Officials including French Ambassador to Kenya Arnaud Suquet, at State House, Nairobi. This is a series of strategic discussions aimed at deepening diplomatic and economic cooperation between Kenya and France.

Kenya and France are working together to strengthen their partnership in many areas including trade, security, investment, agriculture, health, the digital economy, infrastructure, and education. The goal is to create more opportunities for people in both countries.

The meeting is to prepare to host the Africa Forward Summit in Nairobi on May 11-12, marking the first time Summit will be held in a non- Francophone country and a significant milestone in broadening its reach and impact. The summit will actively engage on key issues, including reforming the International Financial Architecture and Strengthening secure, sustainable economic partnerships.

The engagement aligns with President Ruto’s broader diplomatic agenda of positioning the country as a key investment destination and reliable global partner, alongside other diplomatic activities such as the recent accreditation of new ambassadors and calls by the President for the diplomatic corps to promote Kenya’s interests abroad.

Kenya has been invited by President Emmanuel Macron, for the upcoming G7 Summit, of which the G7 Summit will present an important opportunity to carry forward Africa’s priorities into global deliberations and reinforce the link between regional perspectives and global decision-making.
