President William Ruto has called on Kenyans to reject tribal divisions and embrace unity as a cornerstone for national progress.

Speaking in Taveta Town, Taita Taveta County, the President stressed the importance of cohesion in achieving Kenya’s development goals.

“We must reject any attempts to divide our nation along tribal lines and instead come together to build a united, cohesive, and indivisible country focused on national development priorities and inclusive growth,” President Ruto said to a warm reception from local residents.

The Head of State noted that tribalism has long hindered Kenya’s progress and pledged to lead efforts toward creating a society where diversity is celebrated as a strength.

He encouraged leaders across the political divide to rise above partisan interests and support initiatives that foster national unity.

President Ruto’s remarks come at a time when the country is navigating significant economic and social challenges, with many looking to his administration for solutions that benefit all Kenyans equally. His message of inclusivity resonated with residents, who echoed the need for peace and togetherness.

“We believe that unity will bring development closer to us,” said one resident. “When we work as one people, we all benefit from government initiatives.”

The President’s visit also marked the launch of the tarmacking of roads in Taveta Town, a development he said symbolizes the government’s dedication to equitable growth across the country.

“Let these roads serve as a reminder that development knows no tribe, no boundary, and no division. Together, we can build a Kenya that works for everyone,” he said.
