Police are investigating three separate incidents in Meru, Murang’a and Nairobi counties following the deaths of three men in circumstances that remain unclear.

In Meru County, police are investigating the death of an unidentified man who reportedly died after being attacked by a swarm of bees in Miori Village, Maua Location.

The incident occurred on September 16, 2026, with locals reporting that a swarm of bees had been chasing the man.

According to police, an elder who responded to the scene found the body of an unidentified adult man inside a toilet.

Officers who visited the scene established that the man may have sought refuge inside the toilet in an attempt to escape the bees. However, he was reportedly stung by the swarm and died.

Crime Scene Investigation (CSI) officers processed and documented the scene before the body was removed and taken to Nyambene Hospital Mortuary, where it is awaiting an autopsy.

Police said investigations into the circumstances surrounding the man’s death are ongoing.

In Kigumo, Murang’a County, police are investigating the death of a 30-year-old man whose body was found inside his house with stab wounds.

The deceased was identified as Peter Muigai Nditika.

Police said the man was initially reported to have died by suicide inside his house using a piece of cloth. However, officers who visited the scene established that the body had two stab wounds—one on the left side of the neck and another on the left ribs.

Investigators also recovered a blood-stained knife, blood-stained clothes and a bucket containing bloody water inside the house.

The scene was processed and documented by police before the body was removed and taken to Kigumo Level IV Hospital Mortuary, where it is awaiting autopsy.

Police said investigations are ongoing to establish the circumstances surrounding the man’s death and what may have happened inside the house.

Meanwhile, police in Nairobi are investigating the discovery of the body of an unidentified middle-aged man in the Nairobi River near Riverside Bridge in Kamukunji.

The body was discovered on September 16, 2026, at about 3:10 p.m., according to a report filed at Kamukunji Police Station.

Police officers who responded to the scene found the body trapped in mud along the river. Officers said there were no visible injuries on the body.

CSI officers processed the scene before the body was retrieved and transported to the Nairobi City Mortuary.

The body was admitted at the mortuary pending a postmortem examination and efforts to establish the man’s identity.

Police said investigations into all three incidents are ongoing as officers work to establish the circumstances surrounding the deaths.
