Police have unearthed a body of a 20-years-old university student who has been missing for a mysterious situation more than a month in Nyamira County.

The first body of Faith Kemunto who was studying at Machakos University this year was found in a quarry in Nyamonuri village, North Mugirango, after obtaining a court authorization by her family.

The operation was held with the presence of a government pathologist and homicide detectives. Kemunto left on July 30th, the day of her university preparation. According to her next of kin, her boyfriend, 23-year-old Gideon Makori, who has been arrested in Nairobi, enticed her away from home.

The police say the suspect they found in possession of the deceased’s mobile phone were able to track him down. The family who lost their daughter and were looking for her day and night, felt devastated and shocked when the corpse was found in the shallow part of the quarry.

They are now calling for justice and pledging that the perpetrators should be punished by the law. Local police in Nyamira are still conducting inquiries to find out what led to the death of the young woman. The body has been transferred to Nyamira County Referral Hospital mortuary for a postmortem.
