The Kenya Parliamentary Journalists Association (KPJA) has elected a new leadership team to steer the body through 2025, with The Star’s Moses Aliwa emerging as the new chairperson.

Aliwa will be deputised by Irene Mwangi of Capital FM, who takes up the role of vice chairperson. Edwin Obuya of Radio Citizen was elected secretary general, while Collins Omulo of Nation Media Group (NMG) will serve as deputy secretary general.

In charge of the association’s finances is Liz Mutuku of TV47, who was elected treasurer. Emmanuel Too of Citizen TV will serve as organising secretary, while Josphat Thiong’o of The Standard takes up the role of liaison officer.

The new officials are expected to represent the interests of parliamentary reporters, strengthen engagement with stakeholders, and advance the welfare of journalists covering legislative affairs.
