The National Assembly has approved the appointment of three nominees to the National Police Service Commission (NPSC), following the adoption of a report by the Departmental Committee on Administration and Internal Security.

The newly appointed members are Ms. Peris Muthoni Kimani, Mr. Benjamin Juma Imai, and Prof. Collette A. Suda. Their approval follows a vetting process by the committee, which tabled its report before the House for consideration.

The committee evaluated the suitability of the nominees based on their qualifications, experience, and integrity, concluding that all three met the necessary criteria to serve on the Commission.

The appointments are expected to strengthen the NPSC’s mandate in overseeing recruitment, promotions, and discipline within the police service, and in enhancing accountability and professionalism in law enforcement.
