A community empowerment program has been launched by Kirinyaga County, which is designed to benefit more than 35,000 people from all the wards.

This exciting and inspiring programme driven by the devolved unit includes the distribution of 6,500 water pipes and 1,100 fittings for easy water supply access at homes. Furthermore, the people will be given 6,270 chairs and 63 tents for renting their social and economic activities.

When unveiling the program, Governor Anne Waiguru, thanked the County Assembly for cooperating with her administration in the realization of the project. She explained that the initiative is the start of a larger plan to ease the economic difficulties of households and improve livelihoods around the county. “We are making great progress in the implementation of our projects and we are committed to delivering them to the people of Kirinyaga,” Waiguru stated.

The empowerment program is expected to promote community development initiatives, increase accessibility to social services, and provide resources that will foster social and economic resilience among residents.
